Aloe vera gel doesn't last very long once it is taken out of the leaves. What if the gel is not taken out of the leaves, how long does the leaves last after harvesting?
I did a simple experiment, harvesting the leaves of the two Aloe vera varieties - Barbadensis and Chinensis. I wanted to know how long they will last after harvesting without refrigeration.
How Long Do Aloe vera Leaves Last Without Refrigeration
The video below shows that they can last up to a month or more, depending on how old the leaves when they were harvested. Watch the video and check how much weight they lost after one month.
How Long Do Aloe vera Leaves Last in the Refrigerator
I also did another experiment harvesting Aloe vera leaves and placed half of them in the refrigerator and the other half in a room temperature.
The results were just the same. The leaves can last up to a month, depending on the age of the leaves when they were harvested. Though the leaves in the refrigerator looked more fresh but once they were taken out, they started to rot just like the Aloe vera leaves placed in a room temperature.
Watch the video below.
Thank you.
