There is an Aloe vera plant in the garden that I have been observing for almost a year. This Aloe vera plant has spots that look like an Aloe rust.
I haven't had an Aloe vera plant that has this kind of spots, that is why I am not sure if this is really what they called Aloe rust. It might be something else.
This rust-like spots started when the plant was still very young, a pup attached to the mother plant. What is intriguing is that it is the only one that has it. The rest of the pups were spotless.
When I removed the pup from the mother plant and replanted it, I thought the spots will be gone, but the spots remained as the plant grows older.
I did not do anything to treat the plant because I wanted to observe more as the plant grows older and bigger.
What I observed is that the spots will start to show when the leaves become older, because younger leaves have no spots.
Also, I think it is not contagious because I haven't seen anything like this from the rest of the Aloe vera in the garden.
I was also curious if its pups will have spots, but the plant has not given a pup since.
I cut open the spotted leaves to check if the gel inside were affected, but the gel was fine. The spots were just at the leaf rind.
For now, I will not make any treatment to the plant because I will continue to observe and wait for it to give some pups.
