Aloe vera root rot is not caused by water, and have proven that by experimentation with Aloe vera in water.
I have soaked a potted Aloe vera plant in water for two weeks and the plant came out okay.
I also planted Aloe vera in water and have grown Aloe vera in water, and they were good.
What Causes Aloe vera Root Rot?
Aloe vera root rot is mostly caused by bacteria and fungi that are found in the soil. These microbial biomasses mainly derive their energy and the elements necessary for their growth from the decomposition of organic matter that are found in the soil. Although they are useful in soil balance and health, too much of these may cause root rot in Aloe vera. Also, these bacteria and fungi thrive in a wet environment, that is why water is mostly blamed when the Aloe vera rots.
Controlling the growth of these biomasses will prevent your Aloe vera from root rot. The use of Hydrogen peroxide will kill the root rot-causing bacteria and fungi in the soil.
Hydrogen Peroxide in available in stores in many different concentrations, and the 3% solution is widely available.
How To Use Hydrogen Peroxide 3% Solution In Aloe vera
For first time application, just add 1 cup of Hydrogen Peroxide to 4 cups of water and mix well. Use this to water your Aloe vera. You can also use this to water the newly planted Aloe vera. The soil expands when you water your plant with hydrogen peroxide.
Hydrogen Peroxide restores the oxygen balance in the soil, which boosts your plant's growth and health.
Water your plant with hydrogen peroxide every month or at least every other month but with reduced amount of hydrogen peroxide. Mix 1/2 cup of hydrogen peroxide to 4 cups of water.
