How To Make Aloe vera Fertilizer Using Aloe vera Pups

Aloe vera is a prolific propagator, and you cannot keep up with the pups it produces.  I only have a limited space in my garden, so most of the Aloe vera pups will just end up in the compost.

How To Prepare Aloe vera for Composting

Aloe vera pups needs to be cut before placing them in the compost because most of the pups will not die and rot, or it will take a very long time for them to die and rot if you will cut them.  They really live up to their title - the plant of immortality.

The video below shows how I cut Aloe vera pups for composting.

Aside from composting, there is another way to make a fertilizer using Aloe vera pups.

How To Make Aloe vera Fertilizer

Chop the aloe vera pups into small pieces.  Measure the cut Aloe vera pups and mix in equal amount of muscovado sugar.  If muscovado sugar is not available, you can use granulated brown sugar.  You can also use molasses instead of sugar.

Place the mixture in a container and let it ferment for two weeks.

After two weeks, separate the liquid or juice using a strainer.  It is now ready to use.

How To Use Aloe vera Liquid Fertilizer

Mix one tablespoon of fermented aloe vera juice per liter of water.  You can spray the solution on the leaves or apply it directly to the soil around plants.  You can apply this fertilizer weekly.
